Connect and manage a domain

Use Domains to connect domain names to hosting. Registering, renewing and controlling public DNS are separate responsibilities.
1. Confirm registrar and hosting
Check who owns the domain registration, its renewal, the authoritative DNS provider and the cPanel account intended to host the website.
2. Open Domains
In cPanel, choose Domains. Review the existing domain list, primary domain and document root before adding or modifying anything.
3. Add a domain only when permitted
Use Create A New Domain if included in the plan. Choose the correct site folder and do not accidentally point two unrelated sites to the same content.
4. Point DNS from the authoritative service
Update public records where the nameservers actually delegate DNS, which may be Cloudflare or another provider. A domain appearing in cPanel is not proof public DNS points correctly.
5. Protect mail while updating website DNS
Avoid changing MX/SPF/DKIM/DMARC records without inventorying active senders and mailbox delivery. Check HTTPS and web/mail behavior after any approved change.
